#PrayForPeace #PrayForOrlando #PrayForTheWorld ...

Pride Month. A month to spread awareness about LGBT+ rights, equality and a time for LGBT+ people to be proud of who they are. The thing is, they should be proud of who they are all the time. We all should.
Picture

We shouldn't be afraid to go out on our own to a world we've grown to fear. We shouldn't be afraid to be who we are, only to be judged by ourselves.
We blame 'society' as if it's some invisible yet incredibly alarming and dangerous army that attacks us everywhere we go but what we don't realise? Each and every one of us are a part of society. We need to realise that we are all humans. We have opinions and emotions. We all have insecurities and instead of highlighting those imperfections, we should highlight the things that make us beautiful. Our inspiration. Our drive. Our kindness. Our intelligence. Ourselves.

The Rainy Days

Pluviophile:
(n) a lover of rain; someone who finds joy and peace of mind during rainy days

Picture
For the last few days, it's rained quite a lot. Googling things like "Things to do on a rainy day" can get annoying... Here are 5 things I've come up with for things to do on a rainy or cold day. Even if it's just a lazy day where you don't feel like doing much;

1. Binge Watch.
Watch your favourite TV series. It could even be a whole series of movies or youtube videos. Grab some popcorn, a drink, a warm fuzzy blanket and a comfortable seat to enjoy your favourites.

Recommendations:
- Pretty Little Liars
- The Middle
- Unforgettable
- A disney marathon (Tangled, Cinderella, The Little Mermaid...)
- The Big Bang Theory

2. Play Boardgames.
It might seem a bit boring or childish but getting together with a group of your friends or your family is a nice way to spend some time. Playing monopoly, mastermind or charades is a fun way to let loose and relax.

3. Make / buy something sweet.
Brownies, cupcakes, a muffin or even a simple hot chocolate. I personally don't like cooking and am a complete disaster in the kitchen but something warm and sweet can always cheer me up. Suggesting Sarah Coates' Nutella-hot-chocolate recipe and Jamie Oliver's simple Brownie recipe:

4. Re-style / decorate your bedroom.
Every now and then, I like a change... Whether it's a new placement of a desk, a newly colour-coded wardrobe or a completely different positioning of paintings and photo frames. Making new DIY frames, shelves, baskets or even some simple wall-art.

5. Smile
Play in the rain. Have fun, dance, smile. Laugh and belt out the lyrics of your favourite songs.

Pink Shirt Day

To a large extent, we’re all different. Race. Gender. Culture. Appearance. Values. Sexuality. In my opinion, differences should be celebrated. The fact that over 7 billion people are completely different, is to me, absolutely amazing. So why is it so hard for society to be accepting? We live in a world where people are afraid of being people. Where people are afraid to be bold. Where people are afraid of doing what they believe in. Where people are afraid of showing their true emotion. And yeah, this is also directed to me. I feel that the world has grown into such an incoherent atmosphere where people forget to stay true to themselves and pay the same courtesy to others at the same time.

Tomorrow, the 20th of May is Pink Shirt Day. A day of honesty. Kindness. Respect. Acceptance.
Picture
It doesn’t matter what colour your skin is, who your friends are, who you love, what you’re good at and not good at or what you look like. Because in the end, it’s YOU. You are You. and you’re the best at being you.

Regardless of age, gender, sexuality, appearance or race, we are all equal. No matter what. Be our own super heroes. Help each other out because we’re all in this together. Celebrate pink shirt day. For you. For me. For us. For each other.

Speak loud. Be proud. And wear pink because it’s you.

It’s also pretty cute too. :)

Thank you Mummy for always being by my side.
Thank you Mummy for helping me celebrate my accomplishments.
For teaching me, mentoring me and supporting me.
For surviving living with me, including my moments where I fangirl over Joe Sugg...
For accepting my reading obsessions and horrible singing 24/7.
For giving me someone to travel and experience new, amazing things with.
For handling me when I turn into an overemotional psychopath.
For being there for me when I get stressed, tired and in moments of fear.
For making me laugh and have someone fun and kind to live with everyday.

Overall, thank you for being the best mum a girl could ask for. For being responsible, wise and smart but also fun, loving and absolutely hilarious. Happy Mother's Day まま. Happy Mother's Day Mummy. 大好きよ. Love you heaps. xoxo.

Disney Land, a place I’m sure we’ve all heard of and dreamt about. From the amazing history of the creation to the supercalifragilisticexpialidocious rides. :) Came up with a few ‘what ifs’ for Disney Land:

  1. What if Mickey-Mouse-shaped marshmallows coated in Nutella were added to the snack carts?
  2. What if Disney songs played through out the whole park?
  3. What if there were disney villains like disney princesses?
  4. What if the maps were glittery?
  5. What if the statues around the statue of Walt Disney were pink?

 Current Book Favourites

Picture
'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' is one of my favourites. It is written by Stephen Chbosky, an American novelist, screen writer and film director. To me, the story emphasises friendship, love, new experiences, identity and the feelings that come with going on adventures. The book explores the idea of being 'united' and 'infinite'.

'Paper Towns' is a definite must-read. It is written by John Green, also the author of 'The Fault In Our Stars'. 'Paper Towns' is mysterious and adventurous, but is based on a young shy boy's journey to search for the most popular girl in school (his crush). Quentin searches for Margo when she disappears after an adventurous night of pranks and breaking into amusement parks.

'Username: Evie' is a book written by Joe Sugg, also known as ThatcherJoe on Youtube. He has done a voice over in the new Spongebob movie and starred in the movie 'Joe and Caspar Hit The Road' with his best friend, Caspar Lee. Joe Sugg is known for his Youtube channels; ThatcherJoe, ThatcherJoeVlogs and ThatcherJoeGames. Also, he is hilarious so go check out his Youtube channels!! ;) This book is for those who might not enjoy reading as much as others since it is a graphic novel. The book has an incredible, thrilling plot about a girl who feels as if she doesn't belong. This was one of the only graphic novels I have every really enjoyed, not only because of its amazing plot, but the amazing sense of character in the story.

'The Fault In Our Stars' by John Green. One of the most emotional stories I have ever read, resulting in me sobbing for an hour on my own on a beanbag. The story portrays a story between brave, tired Hazel Lancaster and charming, beautiful Augustus Waters. It is written by the same author as 'Paper Towns'. John Green often writes in the perspective of a young teen. His stories are passionate, mostly including romance, adventure and what it means to 'live'. The story makes you really question the values in life and the things you do with the things you are fortunate to have. So grab a few tissues, a comfy place, some hot chocolate and enjoy the book :)

'If I Stay' by Gayle Forman. Is a heartfelt, dramatic and romantic novel. The story explores teen romance, family and friendships. Again, I cried. When Mia; a beautiful, kind, ambitious girl experiences something that could change everything, Adam; guitar-strumming, beautiful and desperate boy comes along. With their love, Mia relives memories, determined to make a choice that could make everything come crumbling down. 'If I Stay' not only is emotional, but makes you appreciate the people around you, taking in every minute you have with them.
